Hey bookworms I'm back with a review. Today I am reviewing "Unearthly" by Cynthia Hand. This book has been on my TBR for three years and I'm so glad I finally read it. This book was amazing! Read on to see why I loved the book :)

The Plot (Goodreads Summary)

In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees...
Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.

Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place and out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.

As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?

Unearthly is a moving tale of love and fate, and the struggle between following the rules and following your heart.

My Opinion

I've read two other angel books which were "Hush Hush" and "Fallen" but this one is definitely my favorite. I love Paranormal books and I like books about angels so this book was perfect. I loved this book so much!

The writing was very good. Even though this is a paranormal book, it actually reads like a contemporary which I loved. The pacing was really good. This book was big but I wasn't bored at all and the pacing was perfect.

I really liked the character development in this book. I really liked our main protagonist, Clara. She was a normal girl who was just trying to fit in and hide her angel identity. She was a good person and that's all I need in books. I liked her friends, and her family. I heard there's going to be a love triangle in this trilogy, which I don't mind because I actually like love triangles. I really liked Tucker, I was definitely Team Tucker in this book. In the beginning he comes off as rude but his true self shows, and he's actually a really nice guy. I also liked Christian. His character was sort of flat compared to Tucker, but I still liked him because he's a good guy too.

Another thing I liked about this book was the religion in it. If your not religious and don't like reading books about religion, this book may feel weird to read. You can still read it. I personally loved the religion in this book because I'm a Christian and don't read too many books about religion. It's sort of obvious though because angels come from God. God gave Clara a purpose, and there is a lot of talk about God in this book. I'm just warning you if your not religious.

Overall, I just loved this book so much! I really need to read the next book "Hallowed". If your looking for a really good angel book, I really recommend this one. I think this book is worth a buy and I obviously gave it 5 Lily Pads. Thanks so much for reading. Have a great day and keep reading!
