Hey bookworms I'm back with a review. Today I am reviewing the first book I finished in March, which is "Tiny Pretty Things". This book has been on my TBR for a while and I'm so glad I finally read it. I actually buddy read it with my booktube friend, Rachel from "thelittlereadinglamb". I really loved this book! It was so good and read on to see why I loved it.

The Plot(Goodreads Summary)

Gigi, Bette, and June, three top students at an exclusive Manhattan ballet school, have seen their fair share of drama. Free-spirited new girl Gigi just wants to dance—but the very act might kill her. Privileged New Yorker Bette's desire to escape the shadow of her ballet star sister brings out a dangerous edge in her. And perfectionist June needs to land a lead role this year or her controlling mother will put an end to her dancing dreams forever. When every dancer is both friend and foe, the girls will sacrifice, manipulate, and backstab to be the best of the best.

My Opinion

Like I said before, I really loved this book. It was very unique and I've never read a book like it before. While I was reading it I got some Pretty Little Liars vibes and I loved that because I love the PLL series. I was intrigued to read this book because it's about dancing and I love to dance. I love reading books about dancing. Let's get on with the review.

First let's talk about the characters. This is one of those books where you can't trust any of the characters. Even though I liked the 3 main girls, I also didn't trust them. The book is in their perspectives so I loved being able to get into their twisted heads. First of all, I loved the diversity in this book. The first character I'm going to tell you about is Gigi. She is my favorite character in the book which is why I wanted to talk about her first. She is African-American which I loved because I love diversity. I loved her character the most because she was so sweet and so kind and I felt bad for everything that happened to her. I always love the nice characters, ha ha. Overall, I just loved her because of her kindness. I also love mean snobby characters too. The second main character is Bette. She is sort of snobby and she's definitely mean. She's been the leader of the school since she was little. She always got everything and she's very confident. She was not as nice as Gigi was but I still liked her because I just love mean snobby girls in books. I didn't approve of her actions because she was such a liar and a backstabber. I didn't trust her at all. Overall, I still liked her character and could relate to her a little bit because I understand how hard it is to not be able to be as good as your other sibling. The last main character is June. She is half Korean, which I loved because I love Asians, and I love reading about them. I wouldn't say she was very likable and pleasant either, but I did like her. I guess I can relate to all the girls in a way. June is sort of a loner because she got kicked out of her best friend's group of friends. They hate her and she doesn't try to be friends with anyone else. She was insecure and wanted to be the best dancer there. I felt bad for her because she's always the understudy, she never got a lead. She did some things I didn't really approve of. In the book she struggles with eating disorders. She wouldn't eat much and whenever she did, she would throw up all the food. Eating disorders make me very uncomfortable in general(I try to stay away from books about it) so at first I was really uncomfortable reading about her. After a while I got used to it and it didn't bother me anymore. Overall, I liked June but she wasn't my favorite character.
I liked the other supporting characters even though I didn't trust them either. So yeah the characters were developed well.

I really liked the writing. It was beautiful.

I loved the plot. First of all, I love New York so I'm so glad the book took place there. I love how it was about a Boarding School for Ballet. I've never read anything like it before. So the plot was very unique. The pacing was done really well. This book is pretty thick and I wasn't bored at all. It was very addicting and the book ended on a cliffhanger.

Overall, I loved this book. I knew this book was dark before reading it. I usually stay away from dark books because they make me uncomfortable, but I knew ahead of time and it didn't bother me. This book was crazy, there was so much drama. So, if your looking for a light, contemporary book I wouldn't recommend this one. If you love twisted thrillers about dance and boarding schools, I really recommend this book. This book is very underrated and more people need to read it. This book is definitely worth a buy and I can't wait for the sequel to come out in July. I already pre-ordered it since I loved the book so much. Thank you for reading this really long review. If you guys have read this book, please comment and tell me what you thought about it. I would love to hear your opinion because this book is so underrated and there's not a lot of reviews for it. Thanks again for reading and I will have more posts coming soon. Bye :)
