No Spoilers!!

Hey, I'm back with another review. Today I will be reviewing "Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism". This is the first book in the Molly Moon series. I read one of the books in middle school, and wanted to read the first book. I borrowed it from the library and I really enjoyed it.

The Plot

Molly Moon is treated like dirt in her squat English orphanage, with only her pal Rocky, starry Qube soda ads, and the library stacks to give her comfort. After she discovers Hypnotism: An Ancient Art Explained in her favorite library spot, Molly begins learning the ropes and takes mental control of Petula, the orphanage's grumpy pug dog, and the nasty staff members. But when Molly finds out that Rocky's been suddenly adopted in New York, she hypnotizes her way to the city, into Broadway stardom, and -- unfortunately -- into a wicked professor's plot to rob a high-security bank. Thankfully, though, she and Rocky finally meet up, and with a few surprises, the two hatch a plan.

My Opinion

Like I mentioned before, I really liked this book. It is a middle-grade read because the main character Molly is 11. This book was so different from every other book I've read. The author came up with such a different and unique plot. I will explain the plot to you.

Basically this book is about a 11 year-old girl named Molly. She is an orphan and lives in an orphanage with other kids in England. She gets bullied and picked on by all the kids. One day she goes to the library and finds a book about hypnotism. A man at the library really wants the book but can't find it. Molly takes the book and reads it. She discovers, her talent. She can hypnotise people. The book taught her how to get people to do what she wants, just by using her eyes. Her powers work and she gets to live the life she's always wanted. The guy that wanted the book finds out that Molly has the book, and he goes on a mission to find her. Molly's best friend, Rocky gets adopted and moves to New York. Molly sets out on an adventure to find him.

That's what the book is about. I am not going to put any spoilers. This book was just so unique and cool. This book had so many plot twists and turns. I was surprised by what happens in the middle of the book.  I never read a book about hypnotism before, and it was so interesting .I liked that Molly learns a lesson at the end of the book. This book has a good message. I gave this book 4 lily pads. I don't know why I didn't give it 5. I had no problems with this book. The only thing is, I got distracted at the last 20 pages, and didn't know what was happening. I kind of just wanted the book to end. It wasn't a really long book, but I wanted to hurry and finish it. I really liked this book. This book had so much adventure in it,and it was a nice break from reading contemporary books. This book also had no romance in it, so it was also nice to take a break from romance books.  I recommend this book if you like action, adventure and self-discovery. I love middle-grade books even though I'm too old to read them. I feel like middle-grade books are inspirational because the main character learns a lesson. I feel that sometimes in YA books, the characters don't learn lessons. Anyway, I recommend anyone to read this book. I might continue on with the series in the future. I have too many books on my shelf to read. That's my review, stay tuned for more. Bye! :) Happy Reading!
