Book Review: Babe in Boyland

Babe in Boyland by Jody Gehrman
Hardcover Edition, bought
4/5 Lily Pads

Hey there book lovers! I am back with a new review. Today I will be reviewing "Babe in Boyland".  Before I start this review let me say, I love this author. I read another book from her called "Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty" and I really liked it. I heard about this book, but it's not very popular. The book sounded really good and I've been wanting to read it for a while. This book is basically like the movie "She's the Man" and I love that movie. Let's get on with the review!

The Plot(goodreads summary)

When high school junior Natalie-or Dr. Aphrodite, as she calls herself when writing the relationship column for her school paper-is accused of knowing nothing about guys and giving girls bad relationship advice, she decides to investigate what guys really think and want. But the guys in her class won't give her straight or serious answers. The only solution? Disguising herself as a guy and spending a week at Underwood Academy, the private all-boy boarding school in town. There she learns a lot about guys and girls in ways she never expected-especially when she falls for her dreamy roommate, Emilio. How can she show him she likes him without blowing her cover?

My Thoughts

This book was really good. I gave it 4 lily pads because I liked it but I didn't love it. I don't know why. This book was so fun to read. It is a cute, light, contemporary book. I really liked the main protagonist, Natalie. She was a great character and I really liked her. The guy she likes Emilio was such a great guy and I really enjoyed all the characters in this book. Natalie has a rival named Summer and she was annoying. I liked Natalie's best friend Darcy but I didn't really like her other friend Chloe. Chloe seemed sort of snobby at times. She says mean things and doesn't even care. She also has a crush on a boy who is a player and a jerk. It was fun to read because I loved when Natalie disguised herself and went to the boys boarding school. It was so cool, because I got to see what boys are like without girls around. Natalie got to observe a lot. She discovered how girls a so different around boys. Natalie learned a lesson at the end and this book was just so good. I just didn't think it was worth 5 lily pads. I highly recommend anyone to read this book. If you love the movie "She's the Man" you will love this book! I enjoyed reading it and this book is worth a buy! Go read this book now! That is it for today. If you guys want, please check out my book channel on youtube. Thank you for reading have a lovely day and happy reading!
