Book Review: Snowed In

 Hey everyone I am back with a new review. I will be reviewing "Snowed In" by Rachel Hawthorne.
I thought this was a cute book. A nice light romance. This is the second book I've read from Rachel Hawthorne. I read "Caribbean Cruising" and really liked it. Since it is winter I thought it would be nice to read a book that takes place in winter. "Snowed In" was the perfect winter read. Anyway, let's get on with the review.

Plot:

Snowed In is about a teenage girl named Ashleigh. She lived in Texas her whole life. Her parents got a divorce and her mom decided to move. Where? To a private tiny island in Michigan. That doesn't sound bad right? Ashleigh isn't use to snow and the cold. The island is always cold and it takes her a while to get use to the weather. Also, the island is so small, everyone knows each other. Ash feels like an outsider. Her mom also wanted to move, to open up a Bed & Breakfast on the island. On her first day, she meets a girl named Nathalie. Nathalie a nice, too bad she has something that Ash wants. Ash is the kind of girl that doesn't want a boyfriend. She dates lots of guys, but doesn't stay in relationships long. She breaks up with a guy after two dates. That all changes when she moves to the island. She likes a guy named Josh. He is a nice guy but too bad he has a girlfriend. His girlfriend is Nathalie. Nathalie and Josh have been dating since they were twelve, but they don't actually like each other like they should. Everyone on the island is taken except for Chase. Chase works with Nathalie and its obvious he likes her. But she is taken. Chase asks Ashleigh out. Soon Ash finds out Chase only asked her out because Nathalie is taken. The plot thickens and causes some drama. The main story is, Ash and Josh like each other, but Josh is too scared to break up with Nathalie. Chase likes Nathalie and she likes him, but doesn't want to break up with Josh.

My Opinion

I liked this book. It was cute and different. The book was very predictable. I knew what was going to happen since the beginning. I liked Ash and Josh together. I didn't love Nathalie that much. It bothered me that she never called Josh by name. She only called him "My Boyfriend". Ash thinks Nat calls him that because he's like a trophy to her and I agree. Does she even love him? I really liked Ash. She was a nice girl and didn't want to start a relationship with Josh because she didn't want Nathalie to get hurt. Her best friend Tara comes to the island with her boyfriend Shaun. I liked them too. Of course I liked Josh. What bothered me was it was so obvious from the beginning that he liked Ash. Why didn't he break up with Nathalie? He shouldn't lead her on especially since Chase liked Nathalie. Another thing that kind of bothered me too was, Ash and Josh liked each other too fast. They were attracted to each other since they first met. That was too fast for me. I still thought their romance was cute. The ending was satisfying but it ended at a weird time. I'm not going to give anything else away. I liked this book, it was predictable but I enjoyed reading it. I recommend this book to anyone that likes romance. You should read it in the winter.
