5 Stars!
Hey there! I know I haven't updated in a while but I'm back now. I recently read more books, and I will be putting up more reviews soon. I just bought some books online and am waiting for more to come in. Shall I do a book haul? I haven't done one in a while. I forgot to say: Happy New Year!
I'm getting ready for the new year and I'm doing fine. Anyway, let's get to the review shall we?
The Plot:
This is the 13th book in the series "From the Files of Madison Finn."
(From the back cover)
Rude Awakening: It should be called baby-running, not baby-sitting! I thought being a mother's helper this summer would mean hanging by the pool and soaking up some rays!
Madison and her friends have big plans for summer- but everything is about to change. After agreeing to baby-sit for the neighbors' quiet kid, Madison soon finds out that he's not so quiet, after all. Aimee stays off her toes before dance camp, but ends up taking another big plunge. Will Madison and the BFFs turn down the heat themselves-or will lifeguard-in-training Hart save the summer?
My Opinion:
I loved this book! First of all I love the Madison Finn series! I've read most of the books and I have to read the rest. I know I'm a little too old to be reading these books but I don't care! The books are so good! Let me tell you about the series. Before I do I think these books need more credit. If you have kids who are in middle school they should read these books. My sister got me to read the books and I'm glad I read them. The books are easy to read and I love the characters. Madison is so relatable, I'm just like her.
The series is about a 12 year old girl named Madison Finn. She is in seventh grade and lives in Far Hills, New York. Her parents are divorced and her dad has a girlfriend. She has a pug named Phinnie and two best friends, Aimee and Fiona.
Aimee is a very pretty blond who gets the attention from other boys. She is far from being a snob though. She has been friends with Maddie for a long time, and she is so nice. She is a ballet dancer and wants to be a professional dancer.
Maddie's other friend is Fiona. Fiona just moved to town and Maddie met her the summer of the beginning of seventh grade. Fiona is a cool girl. She is twins with her brother, Chet. Fiona is an athlete but she likes to be girly too. She has a crush on Maddie's long time friend, Egg Diaz. Egg isn't his real name. His real name is Walter but everyone calls him Egg because he got hit by a egg on Halloween years ago. Egg is a cool guy, although he always annoys Maddie. He also likes Fiona.
Hart Jones is Maddie's crush. He was friends with her in elementary school but he moved away. He ended up moving back once junior high started and he's in Madison's group of friends. I think he likes Maddie back but it's too bad she can't tell. Will he ever tell her?
Drew is Hart's cousin. He is a nice guy and his family is rich. He always throws cool parties during the school year. I think he also likes Maddie a little.
Dan is Maddie's other guy friend. He works with her at the Animal Shelter and they become good friends. Dan might be crushing on Maddie too.
Chet is Fiona's twin and likes to get on her nerves. He hangs with Egg and the guys.
Last but not least is the enemy: Poison Ivy Daly.
Ivy use to be best friends with Madison in elementary school, but turned into a total snob once junior high started. They can't stand each other and Maddie's friend hate Ivy too. Of course Ivy is popular and got elected Class President even though everyone hates her. Also she has her eye on Maddie's crush, Hart.
Sorry I'm rambling. I love this series so much!
This summer Maddie's mom is in Australia for a work project so she stays with her Dad and his girlfriend. She decides to get a summer job, babysitting a little boy down the street. His name is Eliot and he is 2. He is quite a handful and Maddie gets frustrated, because Eliot doesn't seem to like her. The question is, will Eliot ever want to be her friend? He causes so much trouble and Hart lifeguards a the pool so he help her a little. Maddie has some embarrassing moments but she gets over it.
This book was cute! It has a good message and shows you how hard work can be, especially baby-sitting. Maddie is such a great character. I can relate to her a lot. No matter how hard her job was, she never gave up. Also she discovered a surprise at the very end. I think the book is relatable because no kid is going to just automatically like you at first. It takes time to get to know or like someone. I really recommend this series! Please check out "From the Files of Madison Finn". Maddie learns a lesson in each book and she is a great girl. Thanks for reading, and I will be updating more soon. Happy Reading!!
