Hey there guys I'm back with a review. Today I am reviewing "As You Wish". This book has been on my TBR for years and I'm so glad I finally read it. I loved this book so much you guys! Let's get on with the review.

The Plot(goodreads summary)

Ever since Viola's boyfriend broke up with her, she has spent her days silently wishing—to have someone love her again and, more importantly, to belong again—until one day she inadvertently summons a young genie out of his world and into her own. He will remain until she makes three wishes.

Jinn is anxious to return home, but Viola is terrified of wishing, afraid she will not wish for the right thing, the thing that will make her truly happy. As the two spend time together, the lines between master and servant begin to blur, and soon Jinn can't deny that he's falling for Viola. But it's only after Viola makes her first wish that she realizes she's in love with Jinn as well . . . and that if she wishes twice more, he will disappear from her life—and her world—forever.

Jackson Pearce spins a magical tale about star-crossed lovers, what it means to belong . . . and how important it is to be careful what you wish for.

     My Opinion

This book was so amazing! It's been a long time since I've read a really good contemporary novel. I've been reading a lot of Fantasy books this year and I've read lots of contemporaries but they weren't amazing. This book reminded me why I love the Contemporary genre so much, it's one of my favorite genres. I just loved everything about this book.

First of all I loved Jackson Pearce's writing style. It's very simple and easy to read which is perfect for this type of book. It was a quick read. I would've read it faster if I wasn't doing other things but this book was still a quick and fun read. The pacing was absolutely perfect.

I can't really talk about the world because the book takes place in our world. There's a place that's mentioned called "Caliban" where all the genies live but the book is set in our world.

Lastly, let's talk about the characters. The character development was great. I loved the main protagonist, Viola. She was such a great character. I'm not in High School anymore but I still found that I was able to relate to her a lot. She's such a kind and genuine person. She was very sweet at times too.
I loved Jinn so much! He was such an amazing character. He was so nice and I loved that he grew to care for Viola throughout the book. I loved the forbidden romance. Their overall relationship was just so cute! I loved their friendship and the very slow burn romance. I loved that the book was in both of their pov's. I just love when a book is also in the guy's perspective because it makes the book so much better. I also loved Viola's best friend, Lawrence. He was such a sweet guy and was such a great friend to Viola. I just loved their friendship too.

Overall this book was just too cute. I've never read a Genie book before so this book was very unique. I had a lot of fun reading this book and I will definitely reread this book in the future. I just loved it! I can't wait to read all of her other fairy-tale retelling books. This book is so underrated and I seriously think more people need to read it. If you love contemporary books with paranormal creatures, magic and a cute romance I think you'll love this book. This book is definitely worth a buy. That's my review. I obviously gave it 5/5 Lily Pads. It's definitely one of the best contemporary books I read this year. I have a review for this book on my YouTube channel if your interested. Anyway thanks so much for reading this review! You are awesome! Have a great day and happy reading! :)
