"The Truth About Forever" Book Review

Beware of Spoilers!!
A couple days ago I finished this book and I really liked it!! I have to say, it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. This isn't my first Sarah Dessen novel, so I knew what to expect. I read other books from her which are: Dreamland, This Lullaby, Lock and Key, Along for the Ride, Keeping the Moon and What happened to Goodbye. I have to say, I was very impressed with "The Truth About Forever". This is my favorite novel from Sarah Dessen. My second favorite is Along for the Ride. I knew this book had really good reviews, but I wasn't convinced that I was going to love it. Once I started the book, it really drew me in. I loved everything about this book! I loved all the characters. I could really relate to Macy. I was and still am the total outcast kind of girl. I'm not a rebel and I don't always go out and socialize. I like to stay home and read a book. My parents are alive, but I could still relate to Macy a lot. I like how she grows throughout the novel. Wes was an amazing guy. So he got arrested, I have sympathy for him because he's been through a lot, like dealing with the death of his mother. Overall, he is a good guy and I'm glad him and Macy met. They needed each other. Jason, Okay I didn't like him that much. To me it didn't really seem like Jason even loves her. I thought it was dumb how him and Macy have been dating for over a year, and he flips out because she writes to him saying she loves him. Also, he's too perfect. No one is perfect! We all have our flaws, and the author made him seem like there's nothing wrong with him. I liked Wes a lot better and that's how the author wanted it. The other characters were interesting. I liked Kristy. She was a nice girl and helped Macy get out of her shell. I liked Wes's younger brother too. He made me laugh. Monica was very secretive and quiet but I liked that. Not everyone is outgoing and loud.(Well, I'm not.") I also liked Macy's sister Caroline. I'm proud of her for wanting to fix up the old beach house. One character I was annoyed with was Macy's mother. I understand that she really misses her husband and she's sad, but she was mean to Caroline. Caroline spent a lot of work on the beach house and the mom didn't appreciate it. I also hated how the mom judged Macy's friends before she even got to know them. Macy's friends aren't bad people, they just had to deal with a loss in the family. Also Macy's mom didn't like Macy working for Delia's catering company. Why not? Her mom could see that Macy was really happy when she was working for Delia. That job really made her grow into a better girl. I felt bad for Macy when she had to take her boyfriend's job at the library. Macy worked at the info desk with these two mean, girls. What was their problem? What did they have against Macy? Macy tried to like the job but it made her miserable. I was so happy when she quit the job. Macy is a very likable character who I could relate to. This book was amazing and I will read this book again. Sarah Dessen did an amazing job with this book. I was never bored, and most of the characters were very likeable. I will continue to read more of her books. I am so glad I got this book at a used bookstore. It was so worth it! This book deserves five stars on goodreads! Thanks, for reading this, and I will be updating more soon so stay tuned!
