Hey there, I'm back with another review. I am reviewing "The Iron Daughter". Since I loved "The Iron King" I had to read this one right away, and I was not disappointed. Before I read this book I read the novella "Winter's Passage". It takes place right after the first book and right before this one. I'm really glad I read the novella because I think it's very important to read because it explains a lot about Meghan and Ash before they go to the Winter Court. It's basically about them traveling there together but I think it's essential to read. Anyway, I loved the novella but I'll do a review for it another time. Let's move on to "The Iron Daughter". So, I loved this book so much! It was even better than the first book and I loved "The Iron King". I read this book in 2 days which is really fast for me. I loved everything about it.

I'm not going to put the plot description because I don't want anyone to get spoiled, so I'm just gonna say my opinion.
I loved this book so much! It was an amazing sequel. I loved the plot, it was full of adventure and action. I was completely sucked in and I loved being back in the "NeverNever". Julie did such a great job creating the world. I loved every moment, I was never bored. The pacing was great. This book gave me different emotions. I felt everything that Meghan was feeling. I was happy and sad. There were parts where I laughed and almost cried. I still love the characters, they are developed so well. Meghan is such a great character, I love her. I loved Puck in this book. After finishing the book, I am now Team Ash. I love him! The ending was so amazing and it made me love Ash even more. I thought the romance was okay. It was sort of a love triangle but I didn't mind it because I actually like love triangle's in books. The ending was so perfect but I'm really curious about what happens next. I can't wait to read the next book "The Iron Queen". So overall, this book was amazing and it's now one of my favorite series. I love it so much! Thank you so much for reading. If you liked the first book, you should really read this one because it's even better. If you didn't like the first book I still think you should give this one a chance. I definitely think this book is worth a buy and if you haven't read this series yet, you need to read it. You will not regret it! That's my review, stay tuned for more posts soon. Thanks again :)

Hey there bookworms I'm back with a review. I've been having a very slow reading month. It's taking me forever to read books this month. I'm not sure why. Well, the other two books I read so far this year weren't that good. This book definitely made up for that and it's now one of my favorite books of all time! Today I am reviewing "The Iron King" by Julie Kagawa. Before I start the actual review I just want to tell you that I read this book before. I read this book 4 years ago and for some reason, I couldn't get into it and stopped reading in the middle of the book. I guess my book taste changed a lot over the years. I love reading fantasy books now and I wasn't bored at all. Anyway  let's get on with review.

The Plot

"The Iron King" is about a sixteen year old girl named Meghan Chase. Her life is pretty average, she's an outcast in school and her home life is just okay. She doesn't really fit in anyway and people always ignore her. She has a best friend named Robbie. He seems like an average guy but she soon finds out, he's not just a normal guy. He's a lot more than he seems. Everything starts on the day of her birthday. Meghan starts out having a normal day but everything changes when her younger brother, Ethan gets kidnapped. Meghan goes on a journey to find her brother and stumbles into a new world called the "NeverNever". Her best friend Robbie goes with her and that's when her whole life changes. Meghan finds out she's not just a normal teenager, she is actually a fairy princess. She also discovers that her best friend, Robbie is also a fairy, but he's not just any fairy. He is "Robin Goodfellow", the oldest fairy out there and he's a legend. On their journey, Meghan meets a guy named Ash. He is the Prince of the "Winter Court" and Meghan is the Princess of the "Summer Court" so their kingdoms are rivals. Meghan puts aside her differences with Ash and asks him to help her find her brother. Ash agrees on one condition: she has to go with him to his kingdom, because they want her. So, she travels with Puck and Ash and they go on a mission to find "The Iron King" to get her brother back.

My Opinion

I loved this book so much! It is one of my favorite books of all time and it's definitely my favorite book of 2016 so far.

First let's talk about the characters. The main reason why I loved this book so much is because the characters are so amazing! Julie did an amazing job developing the characters. I felt very connected and attached to them. I loved Meghan because I found her relatable. She's a really nice person and she's so kick butt. She's not afraid to fight for what she wants, she is a little stubborn at times but I loved that because I'm stubborn too. I just loved her. I loved Meghan's relationship with her brother, Ethan. It was so cute and I loved Ethan too. I loved her best friend Robbie (Puck). He was such an amazing and loyal friend. I love his personality, he's really funny and protective and you can tell he really cares about Meghan. I wish I had him as my friend. I also really liked Ash. I don't know much about him yet, but I liked him too. He's a lot different than Puck, in a good way. I love any guy that's a Prince in books. My #1 Book Boyfriend is Prince Eadric from "The Frog Princess" series. He reminded me of Ash because they're both awesome and protective of the girl. He's a nice guy and he's also protective of Meghan. I loved reading all the scenes with him and Meghan together. I want to go back and reread all of their scenes, because I just loved their relationship. If your wondering what team I'm on, I have no idea yet. I love Puck but I also love Ash so I can't choose. I got spoiled so I know who she ends up with.

Next let's talk about the world. Julie did a great job creating the "NeverNever". It was such a cool place and I loved reading about it. I was really able to picture the world in my head and the imagery was just awesome. I got completely sucked into the world, and I can't wait to go back in with Meghan. It was just so cool.

I loved Julie's writing style. I read "Talon" by her and loved it but this book made me love her even more and she's one of my favorite authors now. The pacing was pretty good. I actually really liked the beginning, even though a lot of people said it was slow. I liked it because we were able to see the world for the first time with Meghan. It's like reading "Sorcerer's Stone" because we get to see the wizarding world with Harry for the first time and that's what it reminded me of. I was never bored, it kept me entertained the whole time. It sort of ended on a cliffhanger, but that's okay because I have the other books too.

Overall, this book was just so amazing and I'm so glad I loved it since I didn't love it the first time I read it. I can't wait to continue the series. My plan is to read the novella "Winter's Passage" next before I read "The Iron Daughter". I can't wait to get back into the amazing world and see all my favorite characters again. I hope you liked this review. If your hesitant about reading this book, please go read it now! It was an amazing and unique fantasy book and more people should read it. I really recommend this book and I definitely think it's worth a buy so go buy it and read it now! Thank you so much for reading this long review.  If I love the rest of the series, I will probably read the spin-off series. So yeah, that's my review. Thanks again for reading and I will have more posts coming soon. Bye and happy reading! :)
