Would I Recommend It? Yes

Hey there, I'm back with a review. Today I am reviewing "The Sky Is Everywhere" by Jandy Nelson. This book has been on my TBR since 2012, which is the year I first started watching booktube. I'm so glad I finally read it. I really enjoyed it.

The Plot

Seventeen-year-old Lennie Walker, bookworm and band geek, plays second clarinet and spends her time tucked safely and happily in the shadow of her fiery older sister, Bailey. But when Bailey dies abruptly, Lennie is catapulted to center stage of her own life - and, despite her nonexistent history with boys, suddenly finds herself struggling to balance two. Toby was Bailey's boyfriend; his grief mirrors Lennie's own. Joe is the new boy in town, a transplant from Paris whose nearly magical grin is matched only by his musical talent. For Lennie, they're the sun and the moon; one boy takes her out of her sorrow, the other comforts her in it. But just like their celestial counterparts, they can't collide without the whole wide world exploding.

My Opinion

I really enjoyed this book. It was a cute contemporary book. I really liked the characters. The main character Lennie is very likable and I could relate to her. I never had a sibling that died but I have two sisters who I love more than anything. I can't imagine losing one of them. I'm also a musician like Lennie and obviously I'm a bookworm too. I felt bad for her but she did make some stupid choices like drinking and smoking at some parts in the book. I don't drink at all and I don't smoke so I don't approve of teens drinking illegally. I got over that though. I liked her best friend Sarah. I also liked Joe. He was a good guy but a little annoying. I'm not gonna say why he made me a little frustrated because this review is spoiler-free but I can tell you he held a grudge at one point, and I just wanted him to learn to forgive. The writing was very good and I really liked the poetry that Lennie wrote. The pacing was fine, some people said it was slow. It was a little repetitive but it didn't bother me too much. The only thing I had a little problem with was the romance. This book has some insta-love in it. I'm not gonna go into detail but it felt rushed to me. The two characters claimed they were "in love" but they only knew each other for a little while and they didn't know that much about each other. Lennie was sort of too dependent on the guy and I can't relate to that because I've never been in a relationship and I love being alone so I'm not a clingy person. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Someday I would like to read her other book "I'll Give You The Sun". I heard that book is so much better. Anyway thank you so much for reading this review. I recommend this book if you like books about loss. I think it is worth a buy and stay tuned for more reviews coming soon. Thanks for reading, bye :)

No Spoilers!

Hey there I'm back. It's been a long time since I posted a review. I was in a reading slump last month so I only read 2 books. I haven't finished any since then which is why I haven't been writing reviews. I'm back now, it feels so good to be out of my slump. Anyway, today I am reviewing "Thoughtless" by S.C. Stephens. This book has been sitting on my shelf for two years. I'm so glad I finally read it. I really enjoyed it. This is the third New Adult book I've read and I want to read more NA books.

The Plot (Goodreads Summary)

For almost two years now, Kiera's boyfriend, Denny, has been everything she's ever wanted: loving, tender and endlessly devoted to her. When they head off to a new city to start their lives together, Denny at his dream job and Kiera at a top-notch university, everything seems perfect. Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple apart.

Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source—a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. At first, he's purely a friend that she can lean on, but as her loneliness grows, so does their relationship. And then one night everything changes... and none of them will ever be the same.

This book has a very simple plot. I don't really have to explain it because the summary above explains it all.

My Opinion

This book was very good.  It's your typical New Adult romance that's very predictable but I loved it. I really liked the characters. I read some reviews and a lot of people said they hated the main character, Kiera. She didn't really bother me. The only thing that annoyed me a little was she was so clingy to the guys. I'm not a clingy person so I don't really understand that in relationships. She hated being alone and she couldn't live without one of the boys. I'm the complete opposite so I couldn't really relate to Kiera but I still liked her character. I liked how she described herself as plain, she's not the typical social, beautiful girl. She's average and that's what I liked about her because I can relate to that. She was in denial a lot about her feelings and it took her so long to choose a guy. Yes, this book has a love triangle. I personally like reading about love triangles in books, but it took her so long to make a decision. I liked her boyfriend, Denny. He was a good guy but he was too perfect. He didn't have any flaws and he's everyone's dream guy. He was so sweet though. I really liked Kellan too. I was team Kellan the whole time. I usually don't like the bad boys but I really liked him. He was a good guy too and he's a musician which made me love him even more. The only problem I had with this book was the length. This book was too long. It could have been shorter. The reason why it was so long is because the author really dragged out the romance. If Kiera didn't take so long making a decision, the book would have been a lot shorter. The book was very entertaining. I was never bored and there was a lot of drama, I loved it. I love reading drama in books. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romance and love triangles. This book is New Adult so it has swearing and sex scenes in it,so I recommend it for mature readers. I think this book is worth a buy. I have the second book so I will be reading it sometime in the future. Thank you so much for reading and stay tuned for more, bye :)
