March Wrap-Up!

Hey guys, I'm back with this month's wrap-up. This month I only read 4 books. I wish I read more but the books were big, so they took me a long time to read.

The first book I read was "City of Bones" by Cassandra Clare. This is the first book in the "Mortal Instruments" series. I loved this book and it was a re-read for me. It was even better the second time. I gave it 5 Lily Pads.

The second book I read was "City of Ashes". This book was even better than the first book. This was my favorite book in the series so far. I gave it 5 Lily Pads.

The third book I read was "City of Glass". This book was my least favorite of the series. It dragged on and there was so much action and not enough romance for me. There was a twist that shocked me though. I gave this 4 Lily Pads.

The last book I read this month was "Clockwork Angel". This was the first book in the "Infernal Devices" trilogy and I loved it! I will be reading the other books. I gave this book 5 Lily Pads.

I will do a review after I finish the series.

Those are all the books I read in March. Check out the video on my YouTube channel. Click on my channel on the right and my new video is there. Thank you for reading and see you later! :)

The Name Game Book Tag!

Hey there! I'm back with a book tag this time. I haven't posted a tag in a while and I watched this tag on YouTube and it seemed fun, so I decided to do it. I wasn't tagged, but I wanted to do it anyway.
Check out Ashley's channel, she's awesome!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JgFXvSapXU

This tag is simple. You pick a book and the title has to be the initials of your first name. Sounds simple right? Anyway let's get on with the tag.
I will leave the links to these books below each book, so you can check them out.
My name is Stephanie, BTW.

Friday Reads!

Hey there! I'm back again with another post. On YouTube BookTubers do this thing called "Friday Reads" every Friday. Friday Reads is just telling people what you are currently reading.

Right now I am currently reading "City of Ashes" by Cassandra Clare. I really love this series so far and hope the rest of the books are even better! The characters are amazing! If you guys love this series please comment below and tell me why you love the "Mortal Instruments". Also if you guys saw the "City of Bones" movie please let me know. I didn't watch it yet and want to know your opinions.

Hopefully I will be posting a book haul soon. I just got some books in the mail but I'm still waiting for more to come in so stay tuned for that!

Before I go, Are you guys getting "Catching Fire" today? I love the movies and the books so much! My sister went to Wal-mart and picked up a bundle with both movies together. I'm so excited to do a family movie night, Hunger Games marathon! Both movies are amazing! Like this post if you have or are planning on getting "Catching Fire." Anyway thanks for reading and have a great day! Bye!

February Wrap-up & What I'm Currently Reading!

Hey guys! I am back with another post. I thought I should post something different. I watch lots of  "BookTubers" and every month they do a monthly wrap-up so I thought I would give it a try. I'm not doing a March TBR because I don't pick books to read a month. I will put what I'm currently reading right now after the wrap-up.  All my reviews for these books are on the blog, so check them out if you want. Let's get started!

The First book I read in February was "Bittersweet" By Sarah Ockler. I thought this was a cute, good winter read. I really liked it and gave it 5 stars.

The Second book I read was "Eve" by Anna Carey. I didn't enjoy this book and didn't finish it. I gave it 2 stars.

The Third book I read was "Catching Jordan" by Miranda Kenneally. I loved this book so much! I loved everything about the book, and the characters were amazing and well developed. I really recommend this book if you want to read a cute contemporary book. I gave this book 5 stars!

The Fourth book was "Awaken" by Katie Kacvinsky. I thought this book was a good dystopian about a world where everyone stays indoors and relies on technology. I liked this book but didn't love it. I gave this book 4 stars!

The Fifth book was "Burn For Burn" by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian. I liked this book. The plot was interesting and I want to read the next book in the series. I gave this book 4 stars because it wasn't worth 5 stars.

The Sixth book read was "The Snow Bride" by Debbie Macomber. This is the first book I read from the author and I liked it. I borrowed it and thought it was okay. I didn't like the love interest, read my review to see why. I gave this book 2 stars because like I said it was okay.

And the last book I read in February was "Sea Change" by Aimee Friedman. I thought this was a cute beach read. The book left me with questions and there has to be a second book in the series. I wasn't satisfied with the ending. I really liked the authors "South Beach" Trilogy. I gave this book 3 stars because I liked it but didn't really love it. Check out my review!

Those were all the books I read in February. Seven books a month is alot for me. I usually don't read that much in one month, but I did good:).

Right now I am currently reading the "Mortal Instruments" Series by Cassandra Clare. Guys, this series is amazing! I know I'm a little late reading this series. I read the first book "City of Bones" in 2012 and just finished it. It was much better the second time! I love the characters, the action and the suspense. Right now I am currently reading the second book "City of Ashes" and it is even better than the first book. I love Jace so much. I also love Simon too. Will there be a love triangle? Hmm. When I finish this series I will put up one review for all the books. That's it for now and thanks for reading! Happy reading bookworms!

Book Review: Sea Change

Sea Change-Aimee Friedman
Hardcover Edition
Bought Online
Pages-290
Published- June 2009
Rating- 3/5 Lily Pads
No Spoilers!

Hello there! I am back with another book review, yay! Today I will be reviewing "Sea Change." I read other books by Aimee Friedman and this one wasn't my favorite. I read the first two books of her "South Beach Trilogy" and I really loved the books! I have yet to read the third one, and I will be reading it. Now, this book wasn't amazing or even worth 4 lily pads. I did like it though. It was a simple book with not much of a plot. Read on for more!

Plot

Sixteen-year-old Miranda Merchant is great at science...and not so great with boys. After major drama with her boyfriend and (now ex) best friend, she's happy to spend the summer on small, mysterious Selkie Island, helping her mother sort out her late grandmother's estate.

There, Miranda finds new friends and an Island with  a mysterious, mystical history, presenting her with facts her logical, scientific mind can't make sense of. She also meets Leo, who challenges everything she thought she knew about boys, friendship...and reality.
Is Leo hiding something? Or is he something that she never could have imagined?

That was the goodreads summary now here's mine.

This book is about a teenage girl named Miranda who is really smart at science. Her parents are surgeons and really smart. It is summer and soon Miranda will be interning at the Museum of Natural History. But first, she goes to Selkie Island with her mom to sell "The Mariner" which was her grandmothers house, but she's dead. She was happy to get away because she's done with her boyfriend and her best friend because they did something that made Miranda mad. So she goes to the island and discovers things about the island that she never knew, even secrets from her family history. It seems her mom is changing a bit on the island. She's seems happier. She is divorced. Her mom talks to her old friend again and Miranda meets her mom's friend's daughter, CeeCee who is her age. They become friends and Miranda joins CeeCee's group of friends. She feels she doesn't fit in with the locals on the island. The girls are so care-free and boy-crazy. CeeCee tries to set Miranda up with this guy T.J. but, he's not the right guy for her. Also she has her eye on someone else. Will Miranda enjoy her stay on Selkie Island?

My Thoughts

This book was a cute, beach read. I actually read it in the winter but who cares? I wish it was summer so it put me in the summer mood. This book was really simple.

What I liked

This book was so short and simple.
I liked Miranda because she is a normal girl. By normal I mean a regular girl that's not snobby or flirty. She's really smart and loves science. She is a typical good girl but can be dumb at times. I really did like her. She felt she didn't fit in with CeeCee's friends and I agree with her.
I liked CeeCee but she could be really shallow sometimes but she has a good heart and she's full of energy.
I hated Virginia. She was snooty and didn't really like Miranda. I could care less about her.
Jackie was really nice, I liked her.
T.J, I liked him at first, but he wasn't right for Miranda.
I thought Miranda's mom could be dramatic at times but she was caring.
Leo, I liked him but didn't really know too much about him. Honestly, he wasn't in the book that much. The author never said this, but I think he's a merman. I'm not sure because he never said what he was, he's definitely a creature.
The book kept my interest, I didn't get bored at all.

What I didn't like

The romance between Miranda and Leo was rushed.
Leo told Miranda he's been wanting to kiss her since he first saw her. Gag. So not realistic. Also she fell in love with him too fast. But I liked how she told him they were moving too fast and she stopped seeing him for a couple days. I was mad that she didn't say goodbye to him before leaving the Island. I wish Leo was in the book more. I also wished she found out what he was. There was barely any mermaid talk in the book. You think the book is about mermaids but it's not.

The ending. The book just ended with Miranda leaving the Island. Nothing got solved, I have some questions that were never answered.
Will she ever see Leo again?
What creature is he?

There needs to be another book. It wasn't satisfying for me. I needed more.
I liked this book but didn't love it. Even though I didn't love this book I want to read Aimee's other books. Like I said before I love her "South Beach" Trilogy so I recommend those books instead of this one. Those books have likable characters and the plot's are more interesting. Would I recommend this book? Yes, if you love books about islands and beaches. It's a cute beach read. Is it worth a buy? Only if there's a sequel. This book is a terrible stand alone so I hope the author writes another one. It's going to leave you with questions that were not answered. Overall I liked this book, and stay tuned for more. Also I am currently reading "Daughter of Smoke & Bone". It's confusing so far but I'll try to read more of it. Anyway, see you guys next time! :)
